Nurse Assistant Program
At the Annenberg School of Nursing (ASN), we have a successful history of preparing our vocational nurse graduates for the state licensing exam. We began a Nurse Assistant (NA) program in 2012 and the Annenberg tradition of excellence continues. By recruiting the best-qualified student prospects, building a faculty of excellent instructors, and keeping class size small, we have duplicated the success of our vocational nurse program. Graduates of the NA program are eligible to apply for state certification through the California Department of Public Health. Certification opens the door to entry-level employment opportunities as a CNA in California.
The ASN passing rate on the certification exam is 90% overall. For a detailed look at our program statistics and passing rates, click below to download the NA Fact Sheet:
THE HEALING TEAM.
Healthcare is one of the fastest growing segments of the economy. The need for qualified Nurse Assistants has never been greater. A Nurse Assistant (NA) might be the member of the caregiving team who has the most daily contact with the patient. And that contact, along with attention to the patient’s needs, defines how the patient perceives the level and quality of care. An NA also may be asked to take and record blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, temperature, as well as monitor fluid intake and output. At an even more personal level, the NA helps the patient eat, bathe, dress, and more, all in an effort to enhance the patient’s quality of life.
